Barnaby Bear met a new friend called Violet while he was in Uganda. Violet invited him to spend a day with
her.
This is Violet's house.
She lives here with her grandma and grandad, and her brothers, sisters, and cousins.

Violet gets up at seven o'clock and sweeps the house.
She helps get the younger children dressed and sets off for school. Violet has her breakfast at playtime, like most of the other children in school. What time do you get up? |
| Violet gets to school by eight o'clock.

By five o'clock, Violet has got home again. Now it is time to do some household chores... |
| ...she has to bath her baby brother... | |
| ...help her younger brother wash the clothes... | |
| ...fetch more water for washing and cooking...
(can you see the water containers in the background?) ...help her older brother to collect firewood... |
|
| ...and help with the cooking. |
At last, at 8 o'clock, it is time for their evening meal.
After all that hard work, Barnaby Bear is glad it is time to eat.
What time do you usually eat your evening meal? What kind of jobs do you help with before you eat?
