Barnaby Bear learns about children in Uganda

Most children have to help their families with work around the house or farm. For some children, that means that they can't always go to school. While he was in Africa, Barnaby Bear made a new friend called Violet. He spent the day with her. Click here to spend a day with Barnaby Bear and Violet.

Barnaby Bear visited lots of schools while he was in Africa. There are many schools in Uganda. Lots of them are run by churches. Not every child in Uganda is lucky enough to go to school because it costs lots of money.

The singing you can hear is class 3 at the Alpha and Omega School. The children at this school love to sing and drum and dance. They created lots of music for their visitors!

The Oasis School
of Love These children go to the "Oasis School of Love", high up in the mountains. Can you see what new words they are learning?

Most children start school early, and have dinner at school, just like many children here. What time do you get up for school?

This school is also a church. It is in a tiny village, that is surrounded by banana trees. classroom and church
