All these countries are part of America (sometimes called 'The Americas'). America's countries are all very different. Click for some facts that Barnaby Bear found interesting about: Central America, or North America. (South America isn't on the map.)

Central America
Central America includes the countries south of Mexico to just east of Panama. It has 14 active volcanoes, and often has earthquakes. Some of the older volcanoes have turned into beautiful lakes. This area is full of mountains. The only freshwater sharks in the world live here!
The weather in Central America depends on how high up you are. The higher up you are the colder it gets. It rains most on the east coast (or Caribbean coast).
People in Central America mainly speak Spannish. Many have Native American, African, Spannish or Caribbean ancestors. There are a lot of farms in Central America. The coffee, sugar or bananas in your kitchen might have come from here!
North America
North America includes Canada, Greenland, the United States and Mexico.
The weather in Greenland and much of Canada is Arctic. This means that they have long, dark, very cold winters, and short summers.
Mexico has lots of rain, but is very warm. It has a tropical climate. South Canada and most of the United States have a humid climate. It is warmest in the south.
Most people in North America speak English. There is a mix of modern and traditional cultures across this place. Many North American people have ancestors from Africa or Europe, including France, Spain and Britain. These ancestors were settlers. Indigenous North Americans include the Inuit people. They live in the colder parts of North America.
There are many farms in North America Mexico has more traditional farms like Central America. Canadian farms use lots of machinary. They grow grains and farm livestock, but lots of their income is from trees. In Greenland people fish instead of farm. Much of the money in the United States comes from manufacture and trade.
America exports many items such as aircraft, food and petrol
