Barnaby Bear in Nebraska

Nebraska is a State in the north of the USA.

Last time he visited America it was still winter, and snowing. Now it is summer, and much warmer - Barnaby Bear didn't need to pack his scarf this time!

Barnaby Bear meets some friendly medieval people! Barnaby Bear was very lucky when he visited Nebraska because it was when the Renaissance Fair was on.
This fair is a large celebration of ancient and medieval things. People dress up, like in the photo, and there are lots of stalls and exciting things to do!

While he was in America, Barnaby Bear decided he would try some traditional American food - the hotdog!

It was very tasty, and he made some new friends too!

Towards the end of his trip, Barnaby Bear got very excited - it was American Independence day, and everyone was looking forwards to the celebrations. This is the 4th of July, when Americans celebrate a time in history when they became their own country. In 1776 America broke away from Britain and signed the Declaration of Independence. These ladies are out enjoying the parades and celebrations.

Barnaby Bear meets a friendly police lady There were lots of people celebrating, with fireworks and parades.
Fortunately, Barnaby Bear didn't get too scared or lost - he met this friendly police lady who helped him. The police join in these celebrations too - this lady has her own American flag!

Thanks to Helen (another friendly police lady) and friends for these photos and another exciting holiday!
